Hi all!

I’ve recently joined and I currently live in the UK. I’m hoping to add a Sig Sauer SSG 3000 to my collection shortly.

I have a question regarding 6.5x55 SKAN reloading dies. I see Forster produce a full length sizing die that’s specifically for the SKAN chamber. Is that necessary or can I use any brand of full length sizing die for 6.5x55?

I’ve attached a photo below of the info Forster give on their website regarding the difference between the SKAN and the older chamber.

I have a Sauer 200 STR and I use Forster 6,5x55 SKAN dies (honed to specific neck diameter) and also Redding Type-S 6,5x55 SE dies. Can't tell any differences, and most of the Sauer shooters I know of uses SE dies with no issues.

Thanks, that’s very much appreciated! If I can I’ll get a Forster 6.5x55 SKAN full length die but it doesn’t seem as if I’ll do any worse if I can’t get one

Don't know the current status regarding availability, but I waited a year for the honed dies I ordered from Forster...
Anyway, good choice of rifle, my guess is that you won't be disappointed. And also good luck finding dies.
