They tell me they do eat them but I sure as heck am not going to do it.

They are considered a pest, they eat grubs and love to go into a well manicured lawn at night and plow it up good enough to plant tater's the next day. They were not in my area when I was a kid, they have moved north trying to outrun the Mexicans (or possibly global warming) they are so hard that when you hit one with a small car they spring up and have been known to do a lot of damage.

Nice one, seems you gave him a bit of a headache 8)

I'm absolutely clueless - is that a black powder cartridge gun, muzzle loader or how does that thing work?

I think Armadillos look kinda cool, one of those unbelievable animals, that really doesn't make a lot of sense :P
I've heard somewhere (probably in some stupid movie or that Discovery dude, Bear Grills) that in some parts of the US, there's a codex amongst hunters, not to shoot Armadillos. That due to the fact that they're considered to be "survival food" for anyone lost in the wilderness, since they are very easy to catch, even without a gun - any truth in that allegation?! :)

Cheers,

If any of my little old neighbor ladies found out that I passed up shooting an armidillo that might root up their flowerbeds. They would quit baking me cookies and say horrible things about me during church services.

My little muzzle loader is a G2 carbine 45 caliber. It is very light and handy and accurate on deer out to nearly 200 yards. They have discontinued the 45 caliber and went with a 50 at this time.

Hm, that sounds a bit counter productive?! Here in Sweden, everyone loves roe deers, until they've had their first visit, or should I say raid, in their gardens.. After that, they tend to worship us hunters for "our honorable cause"..

I've shot one or two black powder revolvers here in Sweden, and I cant say anything negative about them, especially not about the precision, apart from the obvious risk of getting your hand blown off that is..
